comments Pleased to encounter you and your project. Having laboured under the Greatest Living Poet label for several years (a title slapped on me by Larry Jaffe in Los Angeles in the 1990's) I am pleased to see someone else worthily running with it ...I agree with you about the death, or at least the worthy fading, of academic poetry and academic poets. Excellent site.

comment Sending praise that you have interjected this new idea into the realm. Just as you say in your presentation, the first sentence of the poem should be able to stand alone, I feel that a good idea can be presented in one well defined sentence with choice of precise, succinct words. The reader will hold that idea and carry it away to ponder and reflect, then return again and again, letting the idea expand from page to page. Who knows, maybe the art of letter writing will revive as well!

I am delighted to have found this website at the right time. I really admire the project and I give cudos to you all. I would love to join the project and be a member too. I believe my talents as a poet are more to be discover. I would like for us to work together to run such a project in my country.

I've got a great sympathy for your views as expressed on this "Greatest Living Poets" web site. "Talented grandstanding" is always worth doing in support of really good poetry. I'd really like to become a "Greatest Living Poet" if I could.

commentscomments I really like this website. The ideas embrace a balance between the very big and the very small. The thoughts emanate the big picture and the processes that create the details. There is an "isness" or "suchness" to all the contributions that I read. I actually cried reading some of the poetry. I applaud you for being at the cause of moving.

I was taken aback by the pretention of the title of the book and the site, but I have to admit that it got me to visit. I enjoyed the poems...

comments I am so interested in your work. Everything you have laid out has resonated with me, it's like a wave of fresh air; An excitement. I would love to write like that. I would rather not write at all than write to a lesser measure. I know the world is a Soul... That the first line is the edge between greatness and boring. Can you get me there? Can I at least breathe your words? Where is the energy coming from for this project? I notice that Romance is still popular. Where is the true Romance; I long to fly. Thank you for your attention.

Greetings from New Zealand.

Well, you have certainly undertaken what many would think of as an impossible project - but there it is for all the world to see on the web and good for you! Your ideas are well expressed and not what I was expecting... I found your ad in P&W - which I scour often for leads to send material... though never quite find the venue I seek... I am interested in learning more about what the future holds for GLP!

Most sincerely,
Isabel Alice Stevenson.
commentscomments Hello Mark, when we met in Tallinn Raekoja square, I didn't quess that your soul is so big and it is so nice that you are shareing your emotions and experiences with others. I hope these samples in your web site are yours, because they are truely beautiful, especially Lovers Judge. I wish you all the best.

comment I have to say your poetry is just amazing to me. So very readable, so mysterious and fresh.

I love poetry. I write short verses for my own pleasure. I also post them at a site called www.stumbleupon.com. That is a cyber community where there are some talented people who write poetry, amongst other things (I will send you an invite so you can look if you wish).

I was so excited when I came across your site. Your philosophy feels so good.I would dearly like to interact with your project. We have Live Poets Groups here in new Zealand where folk meet once a month and read their poetry. I like to go, for the one or two brilliant lines that pop up on occasion...

That I have recieved an email from you is an amazing joy!... I love the Internet for allowing things like this to happen!

Yours sincerely,
Anne Perry.
