Dean was first licensed as WA0CUY in 1961 at Waynesville, Missouri. Dean is
retired from the Department of Defense and living with his wife, Carrol, at
their water front home at the Lake of the Ozarks near Camdenton, MO.
Dean serves his community as a reserve deputy sheriff having completed
Missouri's State Certification program for law enforcement.
Dean is a veteran of World War ll where he spent his time on the European
front.
Dean was born in Pleasanton, Ks and later moved to Lebanon, Missouri where he
graduated high school. Dean has a BA from Columbia College.
Dean has also distinguished himself as a Master Mason with over 50 years
service and is a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a Shriner with membership
with the AbouBenAdhem Shrine in Springfield, Missouri.
His wife, Carrol, is also a retired professional. Carrol spent over 40 years
with the Missouri Board of Education serving in positions as a teacher and
principal during her career. Carrol holds a BS in Education from SMS and a MS
in Education from Drury College in Springfield, Mo.
Dean and Carrol have 2 son's, Ron K4SX who lives near Wright City, MO. and Ken
K0KDL who lives near St.Louis. They have 3 grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren.
Dean's HF stations are a Collins KWM-380, TS-440SAT, Drake MN-2000, and
FL-2100B and the Fritzel FD4 OCF Dipole. Dean also enjoys fresh water fishing
and hunting.
